why did i just find out that this song exists a few minutes ago?!?!?! BTW coming from the crazy bitch with like 150 mraz songs on their ipod… okay anger… OUT.
be love. be love. BE LOVE. hahahaha <3
Finally this song emerges!
These lyrics….literally saved my life. I was in my car. Wanting nothing more than to be dead. And prepared to take action on that desire. when suddenly “I won’t give up” by Jason Mraz came on my radio. I had never heard it before.
I decided how I was going to end my life. I was going to drive straight into a cement wall going as fast as I could. I blasted the song deciding it’d be the last one I’d ever hear. I had reached 80mph when I heard those lyrics, Slammed on my brakes and swerved away from the building.
My car nearly tipped over into a ditch.
I don’t know what it was exactly that hit me about those words. I was seconds away from that wall. Jason Mraz may never read this or know this story. But he saved my life that day. And he helps me usually from self harming or wanting to die again just by me hearing those lyrics.
They are how I have decided to live my life. I’m not giving up. I can’t. I’ve been put on this earth for a reason. I’ve had my struggles for a reason. I’ve suffered for a reason. And I feel that reason is to help others. In a more direct way than Jason Mraz did for me. I am terrified of public speaking….but one day I will be a motivational speaker. I will help those that haven’t found those life changing words yet.
If Jason Mraz, by some miracle, manages to read this:
Jason,
I thank you so very much for following your dream of being a musician. I thank you for writing such beautiful songs. And I thank you for saving my life on that day. If I hadn’t heard those words I would not be here today. I can never fully explain to you how important your song is to me. I have those words on my wall and will one day get them tattooed to help me when I can’t always hear the song.
Just…..thank you. For saving my life. Thank you.
If there is any way someone could get Jason to see this…I would be eternally grateful. I just want him to know what his music has done for me.

This is the true meaning of that song being lived out. Don’t give up on life, I’m glad Sammi didn’t give up.

Two of my favorite people!
I miss the old Jason Mraz.
#unpopularopinion?
Agreed. I’m a sucker for the old Mraz.
Please don’t tell her that I’ve been meaning to miss her, because I don’t.
